At the moment i feel 1vs1 could get pretty stale pretty quick. Having mulitple gladiators on either side would take very little extra work in terms of assets but might take a rethink of how the fights are actually represented (in terms of angles 2d/3d etc).

Another option could be animals, though i think that would take a lot more work, though would add levels of hilarity. Would monsters etc ruin the vibe?
